about the project

Wrapped turns your iMessage history into a private, browser-based recap for macOS. It is written in Go, and your message data stays on your Mac.

how it works

  1. run one command

    Run one curl command in Terminal. It starts the Go program with go run, so there is no separate script to install or save. Wrapped reads ~/Library/Messages/chat.db and Address Book contacts to match messages with names.

  2. pick a timeframe

    Choose a timeframe and Wrapped analyzes message totals, reply times, streaks, double texts, and more. It turns the collected data into a self-contained HTML slideshow.
